Depends what you mean by &#039;easier&#039;. It could be argued that there is more seawater gallonage if a sump is attached and therefore, within reason, it could be easier to maintain high quality seawater. Also, if equipment such as heaters and protein skimmer were attached to the sump they could be easier to get at and, particularly in the case of the protein skimmer, maintain - doesn&#039;t necessarily follow though. Further, if a DSB is in use it is better (in my opinion) in a sump and so could be easier to install and watch over.
